WinDiff.Exe uses the EXE file extension, which is more specifically known as a File comparison utility file. Due to multiple requests, we have decided to make WinDiff available for download directly from our site, since we have here comparison charts anyways. Still a lot of people are searching the internet, trying to get WinDiff without downloading huge Option Pack. WinDiff can be found in Options Packs for most Windows versions.
WinMerge is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation, either version 2 of the License, or (at your option) any later version. WinMerge can compare both folders and files, presenting differences in a visual text format that is easy to understand and handle. WinMerge is an Open Source differencing and merging tool for Windows. This can be handy if you need to see if a file is damaged or perhaps directories contain different files than what the date and size show (which can be inaccurate). Microsoft has an older utility called Windiff.exe that can be used to perform a detailed comparison of a file or the contents of a directory. Other great apps like WinDiff are Beyond Compare (Paid), Compare (Free, Open Source), WinMerge 2011 (Free, Open Source) and WinMerge JP (Free, Open Source). The best alternative is WinMerge, which is both free and Open Source. It works in Windows 10 but you might find problems from time to time.
